What's different between a "Task" & "To Do"?

Task

A Task is an action item or followup that is related to a specific contact in your BigContacts account For example if you want to assign a task for someone on your team to followup with a customer, you would assign a task for a team member to followup with that specific contact.

A task can be assigned either from the contact record OR from the calendar.  See notes below as to how you can assign a task from either area in your BigContacts account.

(How to assign a Task from the contact record)

From the contact record you will click on the "Actions" button and then choose the option "Assign Task".  A window will and you can then assign your tasks.

(Assign a Task from the calendar)

From the calendar you can assign a task in one of two ways. In the upper left-hand corner of the screen you can click on the orange labeled " Add Event" to then assign your tasks. In addition, you can click on any day in the tasks section of the calendar and into will allow you to assign a task.

To Do

A To Do is NOT related to a specific contact.   You may have to assign a To Do to yourself or a team member to order office supplies or some other operational item that needs to get done but is not related directly to any one of your contacts.  A To Do can be assigned in one of 2 ways while on the calendar as shown below.
