Add Custom fields to your Sales Pipeline / Opportunities

 

A standard sales pipeline doesn't always capture the specific data points your team needs to track. Custom fields help you tailor BIGContacts’ Sales Pipeline and Opportunity Tracking to fit your workflow, ensuring you can log, filter, and report on the information that matters most.

 

With custom fields, you can:

  • Track additional deal details such as contract terms, industry type, or competitor involvement.
  • Segment and filter opportunities based on unique business needs.
  • Generate advanced reports that align with your sales goals.

 

This guide walks you through how to create and apply custom fields within your sales pipeline.

 

 

How to Access Custom Field Settings

 

1. First, select Pipeline in the Left Menu
2. Next, select Customize Pipeline under the Manage Modules section
3. Select the Custom Fields tab

4. Select the orange button labeled New Custom Field

 

 

5. You will then be prompted to name your custom field and select the type of field it will be

 

 

6. You have the option to create a Picklist with as many options as necessary 

 

 

7. Select the Create button at the bottom of the pop-up window once complete.

 

To see your new custom field, add an Opportunity to a contact. There are two ways to add an Opportunity. The first one is via the Add Opportunity button on the Pipeline page. To access it:

  • Click on the Pipeline button in the left sidebar menu in BigContacts.
  • Then, click on the Add Opportunity button.

 


You can also add an Opportunity from a contact record's Actions button as explained below.
Click on Contacts in the left sidebar menu.

 

 

Select the "Actions" button and choose "Add Opportunity"

 

 

Scroll down the Create an Opportunity window and you will see your Custom Field
