How to Add an Image or Logo to Your Email in BIGContacts
Adding images or logos to your emails enhances their appearance and ensures they display correctly across different email platforms. Instead of attaching image files like .jpg or .png, BIGContacts allows you to insert hosted (online) images, reducing the risk of blocked attachments and formatting issues.
Why Adding Images to Emails Matters
-
Makes Emails Visually Appealing – A well-placed image grabs attention and improves readability.
-
Strengthens Brand Identity – Adding your company’s logo keeps branding consistent across all communications.
-
Reduces Formatting Issues – Hosted images load correctly across email clients without increasing file size.
Use Case: Embedding a Company Logo in Email Templates
A marketing team wants to personalize outreach emails by including their company’s logo in every message. Instead of attaching an image each time, they use BIGContacts’ email editor to insert a hosted logo. This way, every email looks professional, and the logo appears consistently without formatting issues.
Steps to Add an Image or Logo to Your Email
1. Open the Email Editor & Insert an Image
-
In the BIGContacts email editor, click on the "Picture" icon.
-
This icon is next to the "Flash" (F) icon in the toolbar.
-
A pop-up window will appear with a field to insert an Image URL.
2. Get the Image URL (Online Location of the Image)
To insert an image, you need its direct URL. Here's how to find it:
- Google Chrome – Right-click the image and select "Copy Image URL".
- Mozilla Firefox – Right-click the image and select "Copy Image Location".
- Safari & Opera – Right-click the image and select "Copy Image Address".
- Microsoft Edge – Right-click the image and select "Copy Image Link".
- Internet Explorer – Right-click the image, select "Properties," and copy the Address (URL).
Important: If using Dropbox to host your image, add ?dl=1 at the end of the URL to prevent display issues (e.g., dropbox.com/image-url.jpg?dl=1).
3. Paste the Image URL into BIGContacts
- In the BIGContacts email editor, paste the copied image URL into the "URL" field.
- The image preview will appear in the editor.
4. Adjust Image Settings (Optional)
- Resize the Image – Enter values in the Width and Height fields to adjust size.
- Remove Borders – Set the Border field to 0 (zero) for a clean look.
5. Finalize & Save
- Once satisfied with the placement and size, click "Save" to insert the image into your email.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Use high-quality images hosted on a reliable server to avoid broken links.
- Keep image file sizes optimized for fast loading.
