Why & How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Your BIGContacts account contains valuable customer data, business contacts, and internal communications. A password alone isn’t always enough to keep your account safe—cyber threats, phishing scams, and data breaches are more common than ever.
That’s where Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) comes in. It adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only you can access your account, even if someone else gets your password.
Why does this matter?
- Passwords can be stolen. Hackers use phishing emails, data leaks, and brute force attacks to guess or steal login details.
- 2FA blocks unauthorized logins. Even if a hacker has your password, they can’t access your account without the second verification step.
- Your data stays secure. Protect sensitive customer information and prevent unauthorized changes to your contacts, sales pipeline, or business records.
Now that you know why 2FA is essential, here’s how to set it up in your BIGContacts account.
How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication in BIGContacts
Step 1: Enable 2FA in Personal Settings
- Log into your BIGContacts account.
- Go to Personal Settings from the menu.
- Find the option for Two-Factor Authentication and toggle it on.
Step 2: Set Up Google Authenticator
To generate verification codes, you’ll need an authentication app like Google Authenticator (available on the App Store or Google Play Store).
- Download and install Google Authenticator on your mobile device.
- In BIGContacts, scan the QR code shown on your screen using the app.
- Click Next to proceed.
Step 3: Verify & Activate 2FA
- Open Google Authenticator and locate your BIGContacts account.
- A six-digit verification code will appear—enter this code in BIGContacts.
- Click Verify to complete the setup.
- Done! 2FA is now enabled on your account.
What Happens Next?
- The next time you log into BIGContacts, you’ll need to enter your regular login credentials AND the six-digit code from Google Authenticator.
- No one can access your account without this code—even if they have your password.
Important Notes:
2FA applies per user: Each user must enable it individually in Personal Settings.

Stronger security, no extra hassle: Once set up, 2FA adds minimal effort while significantly boosting account protection.
