Managing your contacts between Outlook.com and BigContacts doesn’t have to be manual. If you’re updating leads in your CRM and emailing through Outlook.com, syncing both systems ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
While PieSync is no longer supported (discontinued), you can now use Zapier to automate the connection between BigContacts and Office 365 Outlook.com. This setup helps reduce duplicate entry, streamline communications, and keep your teams working from the same source of truth.
A BigContacts account
An Office 365 Outlook.com account
A Zapier account (Free or paid, depending on your automation volume)
Using Zapier, you can set up workflows (called Zaps) that:
Create or update a contact in BigContacts when a new contact is added in Outlook.com
Sync email addresses and phone numbers from BigContacts to Outlook.com
Trigger tasks or tags in BigContacts based on updates in Outlook.com
Add contacts to Outlook.com when a specific tag is applied in BigContacts
Each Zap has a trigger and an action—you decide when the sync should run and what it should do.
You're sending outreach emails via Outlook.com but managing leads in BigContacts.
Your marketing or support teams use Outlook.com to communicate with customers, while sales teams work in BigContacts.
You want contact updates in one system to reflect in the other without manual imports or spreadsheets.
Visit zapier.com and log in or create a new account.
Click Create Zap and give your workflow a name like “Outlook.com → BigContacts Contact Sync.”
Select Microsoft Outlook (or Office 365) as your trigger app. Choose a trigger such as:
New Contact
Contact Updated
Sign in and authorize access to your Outlook.com account.
Next, select BigContacts as the action app. Options include:
Create Contact
Update Contact
Add Tag
Add Note
Sign into your BigContacts account and map the appropriate contact fields between platforms.
Run a test to confirm the sync is working as expected, then turn on the Zap.
Zapier integrations are one-way per Zap. If you want changes to sync in both directions, create a second Zap that runs the other way (e.g., BigContacts → Outlook.com).
Make sure you’re mapping the same fields (like email address or phone number) consistently to avoid duplicates.
To sync contacts based on tags, you can use a filter or conditional logic in Zapier to only run the Zap when a tag is applied.
