Close (or Delete) a Task
You can close a task from the contact record or your task list. This flexibility makes it easier to stay organized, whether working from an individual contact’s profile or managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Option 1: Close a Task From a Contact Record
- Go to the Contacts tab in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Open the contact you’re working with.
- On the right side of the screen, locate the Pending Tasks folder.
- Hover your mouse over the checkmark-in-a-circle icon next to the task.
- Click the icon to mark the task as complete.
This action will move the task out of the pending state and mark it as closed in the contact's history.
Option 2: Close a Task From Your Task List
- Click on the Task List tab from the left-hand navigation.
- You’ll see all the tasks currently assigned to you.
To Close Multiple Tasks at Once:
- Use the checkboxes to select the tasks you want to close.
- Then, click the Complete button in the top-right corner.
To Close a Single Task:
-
Hover over the checkmark-in-a-circle icon next to any task.
-
Click to mark that task as complete.
This is the most common method, as it aligns with a natural one-task-at-a-time workflow.
Deleting Tasks
If you need to remove a task entirely (not just mark it as done):
-
Use the same checkbox selection method as above.
-
After selecting, click the Delete button that appears.
Keep in mind that deleting a task will permanently remove it from the system.
Extra Tips
- View Linked Contact: Each task includes a clickable contact name. Left-clicking opens the record in the same tab, while right-clicking opens it in a new tab—handy for quick updates without losing your place.
- Task History: Once completed, tasks are stored in the contact’s History folder for future reference.
